Production drawing

Production drawing has got to be one of my favourite modules thus far! As you know, I have been sketching for a while now and have always wanted to do a proper technical drawing for my designs. I can safely say I know how to do it now. Honestly, words can't describe how much I enjoyed this class. We had three intensive days of drawing and I worked the whole day from 8ish to 6. I did not even bother to go for a lunch break just because I was so engrossed in drawing. T said most people would find drawing the details (like stitches, buttons, etc) to be the most stressful part of drawing, but for me, that is my favourite part. I really look forward to drawing them after I am done with the main outline of the bodice.

Of course, nowadays production drawing is all done through the computer as it saves time. Draw Digital Images module will be in April and I can't wait.

Below are some of the drawings I did in class. We were required to draw 5 garments (i.e. a t-shirt, a Polo shirt, a mens' long-sleeved shirt, our own pair of jeans and a dress from a picture).

I just started my second sewing module yesterday and am quite nervous! My first sewing module was really tough for me as it was my first experience sewing a garment. Hopefully this time round things get better as I am more familiar with them machines. We drafted our basic block yesterday and things went well. The trainer said I seemed to get the hang of it now and that was a major encouragement.
