It stopped at 25.

So it's been close to a week since I turned a year older. Honestly, birthdays don't mean much to me anymore and somehow, I've stopped counting the age after I turned 25. Nevertheless, I would like to thank the people who remembered and really made my day.

Thanks Ain, for the Delicious treat. I had some tomato creamy pasta which surprisingly wasn't muak at all!

Thanks to QQ for the sushi treat and also desserts at my all-time favourite cafe, Maison Ikkoku. This cafe tops my list in everything, from service to cleanliness, to the cakes, and of course, awesome coffee.

And then a Swensens treat from CMT. It seems like I basically stuffed myself on my birthday.

In other news,  I am currently undergoing a sneakers obsession.

Nad's 22nd.

Finally me and Noi managed to give Nad her way overdue present.

nittykittyxx's 21st.

So on 24th June, Nad (QQ's bff) turned 21. Made me feel old because first of all, I felt like my own 21st was just yesterday, and secondly, wasn't it only yesterday also that it felt as if they were still in primary school ?

Anyhow.

I brought OK Cat along, just because its been a while since it took photos. But I didn't take any ! Tabi took a few, though. However, I did finish up a box of instax :)

The theme was pastel, so that explains our colours.

since 1999.

Put your hands up. repeat x 2.

sarang.

Looking forward to QQ's 21st next.

wl's 23rd.

OMG. You've got to be kidding me. I typed out a long post, prior to this, and then I had to stupidly click something and POOF. GONE. That was the longest post, in ages!! I am so annoyed right now.

And judging that I do have a short term memory loss these few days, I kind of forgot whatever that I've typed.

Gonna just do it in dot point now.
  • about 12 plus in the noon, started on the making of the cake.
  • less than an hour later, dumped the cake in the oven for it to bake, while we rushed to Coles to get the chocolate melts, chocolate rice, and strawberries
  • how we are actually going to 'package' the cake - the biggest worry (you have no idea)
  • did the butter cream. BEAT, BEAT, BEAT. took a long time for the mixture to become light
  • nee did the layering of the cake with the cream
  • while I practiced making the 'flower' thingy - amateur, since I don't even know what is that process called
  • cut the strawberries into halves, off I go in decorating the top layer. Looks decent, so.. okay next
  • cracked our brains to figure out a way to decorate the cake with the strawberries
  • cracked our brains again to figure out a way to place the chocolate rice at the sides of the cake
  • cracked our brains again and again to figure out a way to 'package' the cake
  • Vin came to our rescue since he managed to get a cake box from David Jones by being all sweet
  • cake's settled. Next, the card
  • printed out the pictures that we took of the cake-making
  • cracked my brains to incorporate it in the card
  • everything was done at about 6.30pm
  • off we go to Wl's birthday dinner.
  • cake managed to be sliced up to exactly 13 pieces (exact number of people who were there)
  • then, it was gone.

starship.

Vina's farewell & Sumi's 23rd. Two-in-one surprise.

This week is ending. That means only one thing. Other than the fact that I should be terrified right now for not starting on my revision for the mid-sems :/

In other news, I was waiting for my not-so-typical drink at Starbucks Lido, when I saw the trailer for 500 Days of Summer and to my horror, this - In Theatres 8 October. Why?!

third year, semester one.

Finally. Project season is over. Assignments deadlines. Over. Its hard to put what I'm feeling to words. All I know is the exuberant feeling one gets after finishing a presentation, that earned a smile on the lecturer's face.

These past 4 weeks have been a whirl. Everyday was a routine. Wake up, go for lectures, breaks were spent for projects, and on some days, assignments. Weekends were spent on meet-ups with the girls for projects, again. Late nights in uni, for the same thing. I'm not sure how I got through the most toughest time of my academic life, ever. I've never been this busy, and tired. Slept at 3 am everyday, and sadly, I always have a hard time waking up in the morning. Sleeping late is so not me, but somehow it has become a norm. Now, this is something I want to erase..

This semester, I was bogged down with two projects. The first one was for Linear Models, which took quite a lot of our time because we had to always go back to the glass house to water the plants. The project used to be a 3-member thing, but one of our group mates dropped out of the unit. So, it was only me and Ling left. So many things happened during the course of our experiment. The lugging of soil and pots all the way from Richmond and then to uni (in the end we found out we didn't even have to get them 'cos the uni has it!), the waiting for the germination and growth of the beans, the many models we thought up for our analysis, the list goes on.. Two days before the deadline for our report, our lecturer told us we had to re-model, which also leads to re-analysing our whole experiment. The worst thing was, at that time, we were already done with our report. That was the worst day ever..

For the second project, I was quite fortunate to have the rest of the girls with me. It required a lot of programming (which sadly, I have no experience in). I really feel that programming is no joke, and I wish I had the opportunity to learn it. Why didn't I know of such units before? I would say, this was our toughest project, because of the mathematical terms and analysis involved. We went for the first batch of presentations and got really freaked out by those groups, because they presented so well. First of all, it really isn't an easy task to present something mathematical. Not only does the presentation has to be in 'mathematical' sense, it also has to be explained in lay-man's terms, so that anyone who doesn't have any mathematical background would at least be able to understand.

This was all over yesterday, as of 12 pm. I think we girls did well! So obviously we had to celebrate and reward ourselves for all the toil and sweat. I would say, we really deserved it. Jess treated us to Mesh, after which we caught Night at The Museum. The movie was quite a let down. The jokes, was lame, albeit funny. I think I very much prefer the first one.

Oh, and I attended QQ's valedictory yesterday. I can't believe those kids are finally out of Trinity. I knew some of them since a year ago, and gee. A year flew by that fast. Hope to see them in Uni Melbourne soon, and most importantly, get into the course of their choice.

From yesterday and before.

Ferrari sunday

The weekend's weather has been lovely, and with that, I mean sunny. But not necessarily 'hot' in terms of temperature. Anyway, I saw quite a number of Ferrari supporters today while I was walking to ERC. It reminded me of 2 years ago when I first went for F1. All I could remember was it being hot, noisy (the sound of the cars is no joke), and dusty. Oh, and the best part was when we mass-walked on the tracks after the final race. That was when Woiloon got lost. Fine, not lost. He just got 'carried' away and thus, separated from me and Renee. Haha! Classic. At the end of the day, we were at his place, and started wiping our faces with tissues and to our horror..

Past news aside, today after our project meeting, we decided to check out cakes for our super belated surprise for Jesslyn's 21st. 2 and a half months way past the actual date, I bet we brought the meaning of belated to a whole new level.
