Peeg.

Happy midweek lovelies! It's been a slow moving week thus far since there is no school for the past three days. Been spending my time finishing up some projects and getting the hang of Illustrator. I'm currently working on my brother's CIP t-shirt which I hope they will use in the end. Also, here's one that I created based on my previous sketches, if you remember. The Simplest Things In Life, as seen on one of Miranda Ker's Instagram posts.

I've also edited my blog layout hoping for a cleaner look. It's still in the process though, I'm not totally loving the header. Something seems to be amiss. Probably it's the spacing. Or maybe the font. I've become so meticulous recently which is good, I guess.

/Edit

Okay, I'm satisfied with the outcome of the changes I've made and looks like it's here to stay.. till I have the time to fiddle around with it again. Adding on to a few things which I've created over the past few days since I've learnt the not so new software..

Looking forward to creating more designs.

I learnt a couple more tools today and am glad that I learnt so much more than yesterday. Am more comfortable with drawing the curves now and I just have got to get used to the tools so it will all come to me naturally. The trainer taught us how to apply fabric swatches of our choice and gosh, I am so in love. Imagine being able to create your own patterns. As you can see, I went crazy with creating various teardrop patterns. For the last two, I applied fabric swatches (corduroy and floral prints) which I got from the Internet.

Finally!

Today was our first Illustrator lesson and oh my god, I just gotta say, I love love love it. Finally I get to learn how to draw using Illustrator and it was like a dream come true.

The trainer covered the basics on the first day and I'm pretty satisfied with my outcome. Managed to illustrate two basic t-shirts. So much more to learn tomorrow and I can't wait!

art jamming.

I never knew there was such a thing, but that's not a surprise coming from someone who just made the ultimate discovery early this year.

When Mich asked me whether I would like to join her for this session, a deal which she got from Groupon, I answered without any hesitation. After which I felt a pang of regret because I've only been sketching but not really drawing per se, or worse, painting.

But since my personal motto for 2012 was to try out new things, to make way for new discoveries, I figured, why not?

I'm fine with drawing, but honestly painting was tough, especially the blending of colours. The last I painted was back in secondary school and that was during Ms Ong Kit Tee's lesson where she asked us to paint the primary colours chart, with poster colours. Seemed like a distant memory but somehow I remembered it vividly.

All in all, it was a great experience, and I'm glad I dared to try something different! We shall be returning next week to finish up our painting. Can't wait.
