#QOTW
After the last post, I totally forgot about that week's #QOTW.
Anyway, something that I've been telling myself everyday.

Very Ordinary Couple
On my flight back to Singapore from Seoul, I decided to watch one of the recent Korean movies being shown on KrisWorld. I had never heard of the movie before and only decided to watch it upon seeing that Kim Min Hee was the lead actress.
I really enjoyed the storyline as I felt it was very real. This shall go in my korean dramas taglist though it is not one, but I would really want to remember this movie.

Our love was not sweet, beautiful or full of excitement. It was a normal, ordinary relationship. But we were both sincere. We really loved each other. And this was the most magical thing that happened in my life.

Life.
"Haven't you heard that life is like a series of movies?"
"No. Tell me."
"Well, you have adventures. All start out with troubles, but then you admit your problems and become a better person by working really hard, which is what fertilizes the happy ending and allows it bloom - just like the end of all the Rocky films, Rudy, The Karate Kid, the Star Wars and Indiana Jones trilogies, and the Goonies, which are my favorite films, even though I have sworn off movies until Nikki returns, because now my own life is the movie I will watch, and well, it's always on."

Just a thought.
I was watching an episode of Win Win earlier today and the "Personal letter to myself" by the special guest, Lee Young Ja, totally hit me to the core. I can't remember the exact translation, but it was something like, "I am glad I failed. I am glad I experienced despair. Because it taught me to think of others. If I had kept on succeeding my whole life, I would have lived to be a beast or a monster."
Somehow, it was something that I needed to hear. We learn from our experiences, our failures. The less smooth-sailing it is, the better because it gives us the chance to learn. Having said that, here's a great quote which I came across today.

New year's eve.
My favourite scene in the movie was when Claire (Hilary Swank) gave that speech.
"...it's (the ball) suspended there to remind us before we pop the champagne and celebrate the new year, to stop and reflect on the year that has gone by.
To remember both our triumphs and missteps, our promises made and broken. The times we opened ourselves up to great adventures or closed ourselves down for fear of getting hurt. Because that's what new year is all about -- getting another chance. A chance to forgive, to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more. And stop worrying about what if and start embracing what would be.
So when the ball drops at midnight, and it will drop, let's remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other. And not just tonight but all year long."
Beautiful.

Remember.
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ….
a friend who always makes her laugh & cry,
one whom she can trust,
one whom she can’t,
& how to confront a friend without ruining the friendship.
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW…
how to fall in love without losing herself,
how & when to break up with a lover,
when to try harder & when to walk away,
what she would and wouldn’t do for love or more.
Got this off Noi's fb.

Maybe.. I was wrong.
People need people and friends need friends,
And we all need love for a full life depends
Not on vast riches or great acclaim,
Not on success or on worldly fame,But just in knowing that someone cares
And holds us close in their thoughts and prayers -
For only the knowledge that we’re understood
Makes everyday living feel wonderfully good.
And we rob ourselves of life’s greatest need
When we “lock up our hearts” and fail to heed
The outstreched hand reaching to find
A kindred spirit whose heart and mindAre lonely and longing to somehow share
Our joys and sorrows and to make us aware
That life’s completeness and richness depends
On the things we share with our loved ones and friends.

just because.
I cannot work out for the life of me why it is sometimes only at the last moment that I suddenly see someone that takes me eye. Is it psychological? Is some instinct kind of honed by the pressure that the opportunity is nearly lost? Is it just the way it is? There are no real answers to these questions. Life is just life. - James, La Mode Outre

mystery.
"The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science. Whoever does not know it and can no longer wonder, no longer marvel, is as good as dead, and his eyes are dimmed. It was the experience of mystery - even if mixed with fear - that engendered religion. A knowledge of the existence of something we cannot penetrate, our perceptions of the profoundest reason and the most radiant beauty, which only in their most primitive forms are accessible to our minds." -Albert Einstein

napkinhead.
I am in love with you. I apologize for the blunt delivery, but as problematic as this fact may be, I am in love. With you. And I'm not feeling this because you're leaving, and not because it feels good to feel this way- which by the way, it does, or did before you went off like that. I can't figure out the mathematics of this, I just know I love you. Can't believe how many times I'm saying it. I never thought I'd feel this way again, so that's pretty phenomenal. But I realize I come with a package deal- 3 for the price of 1. And my package perhaps in the light of day isn't all that wonderful, but I finally know what I want, and that in itself is a miracle. And what I want is you.
