lingering thoughts.

So, maybe it is about time these thoughts go away, but obviously this is something proved to be very hard to do. Been doing a lot of thinking the past week. A lot is probably an understatement, considering the fact that I had a throbbing headache the whole of yesterday. I know I gave myself till mid-year to decide on my next move, but it seems like each day I wake up and I get this revelation - to finally head back to Singapore for good. This comes with a variety of reasons, which may or may not be good, in the long run, but who knows. One can never predict the future. I guess many might say while I still have the chance to study and/or work overseas, why not just grab it because many others might be fighting for this opportunity, but. Being overseas just does not cut it for me anymore. Four years of being away from home is enough, I suppose. I left about 95% of my life back in Singapore, and now I want it back. I think I have discovered enough about Australia, after being here for four years. It may be considerably big, since it is a continent by itself, but the states are in fact, pretty much similar. Unless of course, if we are talking about Central Australia. Then, that's a different story.

Aah. I miss home. The fact that I friends there whom I can just text and ask whether they are free to catch up. Even if it means meeting up more than once a week, because then, what's there to catch up on (looks at Noi). Them, who always makes me laugh. The fact that I can watch any movies I want, at any time of the day and don't give a hoot about the price. Go out, at any time of the day where the shops will still be open.

I need some trigger happyness.

Goodbye Summer.

So, I pretty much had a fulfilling summer break, which isn't really recorded in this neglected space. I am not even sure why.

Late November. The start of summer. Mams haj trip, the period where so many things happened at home which somehow brought the remaining four of us at home closer together. Helped missing boy with his to search for his prom suit. And then December came. Bad news, good news. Seoul trip which sums up 2009. One of the best holidays, ever. Period. Came back, and then QQ started working for a month. February. Missing boy's enlistment. Long weekend of CNY which the rest of us spent in Jakarta where we met up with Vina, and family friends which we've not seen for 10 years.

Before I know it, its time to head back to Melbourne.

And then, here I am. At a all too familiar place.

Seoul cafes.

Next up, I love how there are so many cafes around in Seoul. Though I've got to admit, it was impossible to try all of them, and somehow, most of the time we always opted for Starbucks. If only the Starbucks in Singapore were this pretty.

Starbucks, Myeongdong

Starbucks, Insadong.

Paris Baguette, Gumi Station.

Lente Coffee & Bakery, Doota (Dongdaemun)

Cafe Loft, Myeongdong

I love the bunny logo and the fonts used.

Krispy Kreme, Myeongdong

Manjoo stall, Myeongdong Station.
This is not really a cafe, but we fell in love with these Manjoo stalls that can be found in almost all the subway stations in Seoul. Definitely a delicious hot snack to be eaten, especially during winter.

Hollys Coffee, Gwanghwamun
Love the logo! Just look at how cute the cups and sleeves are.

With that, I end my 2009/2010 Seoul trip posts. Verdict: Seoul, Korea. Definitely worth a visit !

overdue.

Honestly, I've been losing the urge to blog these days. I don't know why. Probably my life is pretty boring in Singapore, but yet, I am busy. Busy trying to make it less boring than it already is?

Even the meet-ups have been a routine. I told myself to live the summer break in Singapore week by week. Thus, the reason for the weekly planned outings. And then I realised it always consists of two people. Usual chilling sessions with Noi, and makan and movie sessions (even though we're dead broke at times) with cmt.

Anyway, this was supposed to be a long overdue post on the Seoul trip. Getting on with it...

I can't believe the trip was a month ago. A few days ago, QQ bbm-ed me and said how much she actually misses Korea and that she thinks about Korea every now and then. I've got to admit, I do too. Who wouldn't think of carefree times like that. It was not only a holiday for us, but also an adventure. The last two days. The one where it recorded the highest snowfall, that was also the day we went to the kimchi school. I am so glad I dragged Paps and the bugger along with us, because not only did they have to make their own kimchi, we also had the opportunity to try on the Korean traditional costumes. Seeing the bro and Paps in those costumes made us burst out in laughter. Because..

Haha! I know, right. We're definitely going to frame one of the photos with the four of us together. If Mams had come along, the family picture would have been so complete.

And of course, the kimchi making.

Leaving the school was quite a hassle..

Moving on. We also had fun going out in the snow, but of course, minus the cold, and the fact that we had to watch out for our steps. I've got to say, the best shopping streets are Myeongdong, and of course, Dongdaemun. These are definitely the places that one can find their legs automatically bring them to.

look far.

It happened to me before, and I cannot believe I let it happen to me again. I spent the whole day at home, staring at my laptop, basically just surfing the internet and watching a Japanese drama titled 'Real Clothes'. By evening, I had a massive headache and felt like puking, and then I remembered I conveniently forgot to eat lunch (that few spoonfuls of ben & jerry's didn't count).

Anyway, I am still having withdrawals from the trip. I think the five of us should head somewhere as a family during the CNY long weekend, but I have no idea where to. My sister just said she is not a beach person :/ So I can scrap the idea of having a beach holiday.

Moving on to the pictorials..

I really love the Korean's traditional costume, the hanbok. The cutting, and especially the designs. Love it. Each piece is so unique in its own ways, and I was really happy when I got the opportunity to wear it.
