great ocean road

Before I forget what actually happened on those days, and I also know for a fact that in due time, I'd probably get lazy to blog about what specifically happened.. so, I shall do it slowly now.

If I remember correctly, it was on a Saturday. Cmt rented a car, and then we set off for our mini road trip. I was already skeptical about the weather from a few days ago, since I always check the forecast regularly, and the weather doesn't look promising for Saturday. When we reached Geelong, the skies were grey, but somehow I could catch a glimpse of sunshine beneath it. So, I began to hope that the weather will pick up for the day. But it didn't. When we reached Torquay, it seemed worse. Stopped over at the Info Centre to get some maps (can't believe we didn't really have the maps for the GOR trip), and set off to Bells Beach, mistook some beach for Bells Beach, but in the end we found the actual beach which unfortunately, was closed due to some surfing championship.

Anyway, the weather for the rest of the day took a turn for the better, with some light rains towards the end. The highlight of the trip would be the fish & chips from Lorne (we got it from the same shop as the time when I came with my family in '07), stopped by the roadside to see koalas hanging by the trees (now, that was very random), and Loch Ard Gorge. I must admit, to me, that was the main attraction of GOR. It was definitely a view, and more breathtaking than the apostles itself. You know, the kind where you just go "Wow..", and I can't believe I still get that sort of feeling when this was my second time being there.

Love it. And I'm glad I was able to witness one of God's finest creation with cmt.

  1. Cant believe we dint take a picture of the car for this trip... If I remember correctly, it was a blue 3-door manual Hyundai Getz. I couldnt start the car at Euro Car rentals cos need to step on the clutch when starting the engine.
